About:
WP Clipart is an attempt to make a useful clip art package of public domain images for use in word processors. It includes an optional cross-platform viewer/editor written with Python/GTK. The collection contains non-transparent PNG images, scaled down images, mid-tones expanded for inkjet print quality, etc. It is suitable for documents as well as Web graphics, but also has business application (credit cards, promo graphics) and educational uses (pictures of all US presidents, all country flags alphabetically listed, all US states, historical figures, and a sign language alphabet).
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
The viewer/editor is now called wpclipper, and uses Pythopn GTK (no longer uses wxWindows). Its copy to clipboard function now is able to paste into documents in OpenOffice, AbiWord, MS Word, and Wordpad as well as GTK-bsed applications such as the GIMP. Other changes to the viewer include better management of memory during image manipulation, clicking a thumbnail to view it full sized, the removal of the splash screen, the ability to save edited images in PNG or JPEG, and interface differences.
