About:
bmon is a portable bandwidth monitor and rate
estimator. It supports various input methods for
different architectures. Various output modes
exist, including an interactive curses interface,
lightweight HTML output, and simple ASCII output.
Statistics may be distributed over a network using
multicast or unicast and collected at some point
to generate a summary of statistics for a set of
nodes.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
The core architecture has been changed to consist
of primary and secondary input and output modules
for better portability and easier configuration. A
netlink input module has been added for Linux,
supporting traffic control statistics of qdiscs
and classes. The HTML output has been revised to
be more configurable with stylesheets. A UDP based
statistic distribution protocol over unicast or
multicast has been added to allow distribution of
statistics over the network. The curses interface
has been made more user friendly, allowing more
information on the screen.
