[»] error while installing 2-disk x window embedded Linux
by nagalakshmi - Feb 27th 2006 03:22:12

Respected sir,

My name is nagalakshmi. I am

studying final year B.Tech. When I am surfing the

Freshmeat site I came to Know about 2-disk x

window Embedded Linux. I am very much

interested to install this software on my computer.

I downloaded the software which fits on 2-floopy

disks. Then I prepared the boot floppies by following

the 'Read' file. I restarted the system . The

Installation is going successfully upto some extent.

But after some time an error is occured. I am going

to write what ever error message it is displayed.

/sbin/getty: error in loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.1 can't open shared object file. No such file or directory.

Please send me solution to resolve

this error. I am downloading the 1.5 version of 2-

disk x window embedded Linux. If possible Plz send

me an error free version which fits in 2 floppies. It

is my humble request Plz give me reply to this

mail. I am pretty much interested to use this

system on my computer. Each time when I

installing the Linux i spend nearly 3hrs on

installation and configuriation procedures for

accessing the internet. This 2-disk x window linux

solve this problem. Thats why i am very much

interested to install this software on my computer.

Plz send me solution to resolve error occured while

installing.

Thankyou Sir.

Most respected intelligent and dilligent master my blessings and salutations go out to you. Your endeavour is fraught and many obstacles those who hear not the please of the needy.

The B of Tech is not the A of Tech but its final is only the beginning.

I assume you may live in the southern hemispere and have not heard of the chirality of electron spin causing magnetic sector irregularity, This little known effect requires that those who live south of the equator format their floppy disks twice and run badblocks to verify that the disk holds the data without errors!!!!!

If that is not the case then you must make sure that the data size of root image and kernel is less than 1.4Mb. Please make study of the bootdisks howto or some similar text.

If this knowledge does not help those in need only they can help themselves.

Nice to see it back.

Used it more than a year ago on my PC. Now I'm an adept to Peanut. But this release is fine for the user who wants a peek at Linux whitout installing it.

The latest release dates back to August 2002 Is there still some development going on ?

Other Disklinux of interest :

mulinux

Keep up the good work,

Francis.
