About:
The Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) implements an Internet name server for Unix operating systems. The BIND consists of a server (or `daemon') called `named' and a resolver library. A name server is a network service that enables clients to name resources or objects and share this information with other objects in the network.

Bind or djbdns ?
by Olivier L. Müller - Feb 13th 2001 08:23:18
I'm currently wondering what would be the best for the security of my
server...
Just saw some interesting things under:

If you plan on using a secondary/tertiatry dns,
djbdns can be a little painful since it doesn't
accept NOTIFY and zones do not migrate. However,
you can setup rsync scripts & rcs to accomplish
that. I'm using djbdns on my master dns server,
and zones migrate via axfrdns+dnsnotify on slave
bind nameservers. See this site
for more info.

So using your analogy, you have your tongue up every BIND company member's
ass.

Actually, I chose the "no-tonguing" option and wrote my own instead.

I could also reinvent the wheel if I wanted. But why when djbdns works
great?
